These programs include development of the XG Dynamic Spectrum Access technology, the Wireless Networking after Next (WNAN) cognitive radio, and the Delay and Disruption Tolerant Networking programs. Dr. Marshall has written many articles, book chapters and conference presentations on the subject of cognitive radio and spectrum issues. Rod then transitioned to the Advanced Products Lab, where he helped design inductively coupled antennas, MEMS accelerometers for GUI navigation, low cost PDA modems, and 4G data technologies for cell phones. After leaving Motorola, Rod entered the design services/consulting industry where he worked in design roles, management roles and in technical sales roles until he co-founded Spectrum Design Solutions to focus on embedded wireless communications. While at Spectrum, Rod architected many cellular enabled designs that range from vehicle and animal tracking to gateways for sensor and control networks. He served as President/CEO Spectrum until 2008 when Spectrum was purchased by Digi International. The next few years he served as VP of Technical Sales at Spectrum, where he leveraged his years of experience to help clients design and integrate wireless technology for M2M applications. His efforts got him promoted to Director of Strategic Alliances for Digi International, where he established and oversaw alliances with Intel, Freescale, and Telit. Rod left Digi in 2012 to invent a device which uses GPS to contain an animal in a given area. The technology is useful in several areas, and he has patents pending. Wei Tang is a highly-experienced and acknowledged expert in the international telecommunications industry and is now Yealink Network Technology’s VP Business Development & Key Account Sales for North America. He began his career with a BSc degree from Beijing University, followed by an MSc from the University of Virginia - both in Electrical Engineering. He has accumulated more than 15 years of varied telecommunication industry experience. This ranges from UC&C applications to 4G wireless infrastructure, mobility and security software and telecom OSS/BSS systems. Moreover, he has also worked extensively for startups and multinational companies in US, China and Korea in engineering, marketing, business development and sales positions.Among his achievements, Wei Tang led the development of the world’s first P2P Mobile-IP secure communication system. He was also at the helm during the design of a small cell product for MSO and throughout successful trials with major cable operators, such as Comcast and TWC. He currently leads key projects and manages strategic partnerships in the US.

Prior to joining Compass Intelligence, Mr. Brehm served in multiple roles for nine (9) years at Growth Consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. Prior to joining Frost & Sullivan, Mr. Brehm worked in marketing, sales management, and business development roles for Rackspace Managed Hosting and Interland (now Web.com), two of the largest pure play web hosting companies in the U.S. His responsibilities included research on the competitive landscape of the market, developing new product offerings, assessing emerging markets, improving the over all value chain for Global 1000 clients, due diligence, and acquisition analysis. Mr. Brehm entered the high tech arena in the mid 1990’s working in sales management within the telecom arena for MCI and later working for Gateway, Inc in multiple roles including product marketing, product management, training, and sales management.

Currently, Andy is a Principal Analyst at Machina Research focused on the rapidly evolving M2M ecosystems in the Americas with particular focus on mobile health solutions and the M2M devices space.Prior to joining Machina Research, Andy was a Principal Analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media with focus on mobile devices, application platforms and M2M solutions. During his tenure at the Yankee Group, Andy was Director of mobile devices research, Director of the North American consumer practice and Program Manager for the Latin American mobile services group. Mike Sapien is responsible for Ovum’s US Enterprise Practice. Based in southern California, Mike is focused on North American and global enterprise telecom markets and related trends. This includes WAN, managed, and advanced voice, video and data services to address Global MNC, large enterprise, and SMB customers. His focus areas also include data center services, emerging cloud and hosted services, enterprise mobility services and related product development, market launch, and channel programs of enterprise services. Recent work includes SIP trunking, IPv6 migration, SDN, data center services, telco healthcare solutions and managed security.Mike leads the design, development, and implementation of Ovum’s research and advisory services on enterprise network services and managed solutions in North America with a major emphasis on the global, tier 1 carriers, infrastructure vendors and providers.
