“With this partnership, people will no longer need to rely on expensive in-car assistant programs for real-time traffic updates and route recommendations,” said Connie Li, president and chief executive officer of TrafficCast International. “With Apisphere’s understanding of the demanding requirements of delivering dynamic data and TrafficCast’s commitment to providing actionable traffic information, together we are providing the best solutions to help mobile users navigate their routes.”
Apisphere is proficient in bringing location-awareness information to mobile devices while TrafficCast has been utilizing its traffic science to provide accurate traffic data aggregation and analysis for a long time. Presently, TrafficCast garners its real-time information from above 350 data sources such as construction, incidents, speed and weather to bring forth real-time and supply travel information for clients.
The two companies are working to jointly create solutions that allow users to track traffic conditions on their mobile devices. This solution will also allow users to accurately know arrival times or even change their routes accordingly while still on the move.
The partnership will also help launch Apisphere’s Geo-Enabled Mobility (GEM (News - Alert)) platform. This platform provides mobile content, including applications and messaging which will take off when users enter certain specific areas. TrafficCast’s trademark ‘traffic science’ will be combined with Apisphere’s GEM platform to accommodate the available information to parameters of particular distribution channels.
“Traffic updates and travel time forecasts are crucial information for commuters and companies who rely on mobile teams,” stated Craig Harper, chief executive officer of Apisphere.
“Delivering this information in real-time to multiple users across the country requires precise underlying data analysis and an effective delivery platform which this partnership will uniquely provide,” he added.
