Telit Wireless Solutions recently announced that its HE910 family modules have successfully cleared certification on the Rogers Wireless networks in Canada.
Designed with an ultra-low profile, the HE910 module variants are ideal for use in compact consumer electronic devices and mobile M2M applications such as e-readers, GPS navigation devices and mobile health devices.
All M2M solutions and connected devices enabled over the Rogers wireless networks will now be powered by the HE910 family of modules. At present, the Rogers wireless network offers Telit and other leading solution providers with comprehensive wireless data connectivity, enabling them to offer products, services and guidance for supporting M2M solutions for use in transportation, retail, oil and gas, government, financial, healthcare, manufacturing and education.
"Rogers' expansive wireless networks throughout Canada provide a number of opportunities for our HE910 module variants to be used in small, lightweight mobile devices that require the most advanced connectivity," said Mike Ueland, senior vice president and general manager of Telit, Wireless Solutions North America.
Telit's HE910 family modules have been developed as a part of the xE910 form factor family, featuring both regional and network variants and incorporating a 28.2 x 28.2 x 2.2mm LGA package.
The modules offer an ultra-low profile within the integrated solution.
The Rogers-approved HE910 variants feature two modules ideal for global deployments, full-featured HE910 along with HSPA+ data, voice and GPS functionalities in addition to HE910-D, providing data-only functionality.
The variants come with three modules ideal for use within the North American market. These are the HE910-NAR with data and voice, the data-only HE910-NAD, and the data- and GPS-enabled HE910-NAG.
Each of these embedded modules sport a small and light frame, effectively cutting down costs for high-volume applications and portable devices. Additionally, the modules provide ubiquitous 2G support along with quad band GPRS and EDGE, ensuring global application deployment support.
