The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), a diversified telecommunications company provider of voice, video and data, recently collaborated with its subsidiary company Smart Communications Inc., a mobile cellular service provider (also based in Philippines) that provides machine-to-machine (M2M) communications services, on an enterprise-grade Pharma mobile app which will reportedly streamline medrep operations and allow a seamless single point of contact for medico-marketing.
Launched on November 12, this PINpoint Pharma app, which provides mobile efficiency tools bundled in the Smart M2M Pharma, is designed as an all-in-one solution to meet the day-to-day field requirements of medical representatives, allowing them to manage processes, set up meetings with clients, perform real-time inventory of products, as well as stock updates and a running view of on-hand inventory.
The application displays “view of sales” as well as tracking and account monitoring, and carries out other workflow tasks – wherever they may be – while they’re mobile, according to Eric R. Alberto, PLDT EVP and Head of Enterprise.
The Smart and PLDT Group's app, designed for smartphones and tablets running either Android or iOS platforms, will provide 3G and HSPA services as well as broadband Internet connections with speeds of up to 7.2 Mbit/s.
According to Smart Enterprise Wireless Marketing Head, John Eric Alviz, this sector-targeted application offers a cost-efficient choice for corporate clients for easy-to-use touch-centric mobile to permit a call-planning function for doctor coverage, itinerary creation and approval management. It includes built-in connectivity delivering not only secure solutions to address the critical needs of the pharmaceutical supply chain, but brings innovative M2M solutions to provide a value-added service to enable medreps’ two-way real-time voice and data communications to also provide reliable services that can have an impact on patient care.
The evolution of this medical M2M application emerging in medical and pharmaceutical settings consists of a two-year service to handle operations, said Alviz. The service will benefit many of the medical representatives in the country as it gives them the widest network coverage possible to be able to do work even while outside of their offices.
