M2M: Frost & Sullivan Awards Daimler FleetBoard 2012 European Growth Leadership Award

Frost & Sullivan has awarded Daimler FleetBoard with the 2012 European Growth Leadership Award for its leadership in the heavy-duty telematics market.

"FleetBoard's modular service portfolio, providing telematics services to all commercial vehicle segments, all makes, and all markets, can only help the company achieve increased market growth in the coming years," Frost & Sullivan research analyst Sathyanarayan Kabirdas said. "Its vast experience, proximity to truck development and access to vehicle brands, provides a strong basis for future growth."

FleetBoard, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler, specializes in telematics for medium commercial vehicles (MCV) and heavy-duty commercial vehicles (HCV), and is offering fleet management systems as a standard. The company offers services ranging from vehicle tracking to sophisticated back-end operations, as well as many other add-on operations to add to a greater return on investment.

"FleetBoard has the ability to provide fleet telematics solutions to all types of trucking operations, regardless of private or for hire, less than truck load (LTL), field services or any other vertical market," Kabirdas said."Through 2011, the company has focused on expanding its already extensive portfolio in terms of logistics and time management services.

The company has about 150 certified service partners, with 100 of them located in Germany. The company expects to certify more premium partners. All Mercedes-Benz workshops are able to take care of basic services.

"The company has plans to expand in a phased manner in largely under-penetrated countries, like Turkey, Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe," Kabirdas said. "It also targets countries such as Brazil, South Africa, China and the Middle East, to gain a global presence."

FleetBoard is also developing special features for Daimler’s trucks with its internal partners.

“In collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, it provides truck service management, which helps it to significantly reduce vehicular wear and tear," elaborates Kabirdas. "Daimler's collaboration with Zauner & Partner is another example of a strategic move by FleetBoard to offer enhanced value-added services to its customers.
