Arrow Electronics has long been one of the top firms in the world in both cloud-based applications and those that apply particularly to the M2M market, for which the company has now launched a cloud-based online development tool. This new service allows for the development of Cortex-Mo+ based designs and M2M applications.
Arrow Electronics is featuring technology that comes from Freescale Semiconductor and Digi International to make the Arrow Cloud Connect development environment that will allow application designers to add more dependable connectivity to a huge variety of different products and software.
The Arrow Cloud Connect service can offer services which have an online integrated development environment (IDE). This network will allow users to create and compile code for Freescale’s development platform.
"Connectivity is pervasive in embedded systems. As more of our applications run in the cloud, we looked at these trends and recognized that embedded development, code generation and compilation can be done in the cloud to offer our customers greater options and solutions," said Aiden Mitchell, director of supplier marketing for Arrow Electronics. "Arrow, Freescale and Digi have worked to deliver that capability with Arrow Cloud Connect – a platform we can build on as a development playground."
Mitchell added that his company is excited to be building on the Freescale relationship they had already forged, making the partnership between the two entities that much stronger. Arrow Cloud Connect had already been a delivery platform that allows easy access to some of the more complex development tools in the M2M market.
Now that those developers will also have access to the iDigi Device Cloud, users will be able to gain access to a new set of device management tools that will make deployment that much easier.
