An M2M player, that delivers radar speed displays and variable message signs designed to improve traffic safety outcomes, has decided to work with ThingWorx to support advanced application development for its SmartApps Web-based traffic control suite. The ThingWorx platform combines the functionality of Web 2.0, search, and social collaboration, and allows businesses to rapidly deliver applications and connected solutions for M2M remote monitoring and service, as well as in emerging "Internet of Things" (IoT) applications, including smart cities, smart grid, agriculture, and transportation.
All Traffic’s SmartApps solution suite, for example, allows law enforcement professionals and state and local agencies to remotely monitor, manage, and interact with traffic safety signs using a Web-based application and virtual map. With the ThingWorx platform, All Traffic will be able to quickly deliver an overall increase in the quality and sophistication of its SmartApps suite.
Based in State College, Pa., All Traffic Solutions has long focused on the traffic safety market for speed displays, message signs and imaging products. The company integrates cloud technology into all of its products, allowing customers to manage all their equipment and data remotely, through a browser.
All Traffic will utilize ThingWorx specifically to deliver a next generation of application functionality for SmartApps. With ThingWorx, All Traffic will now be able to quickly support the growing sophistication required within its SmartApps solution through rapidly developing mobile interfaces using the ThingWorx Mashup Builder. It will also be able to provide more comprehensive business system integration, and will now be able to offer advanced data mining for customers requesting predictive analytics for traffic control.
“ThingWorx’s rapid application development environment and scalable platform allow us to extend our solution and deliver new services to our customers in ways that were previously impossible,” stated Scott Johnson, CEO and co-founder of All Traffic. “With ThingWorx, we have the flexible platform we need to rapidly take our new and innovative products to market.”
The next generation of development for SmartApps will take advantage of the ThingWorx rapid application development environment, business application integration, and usability tools to deliver improved value for All Traffic’s customers. The solution will specifically target creating increasing efficiencies for local law enforcement professionals, while offering well-developed predictive data for better planning and safety outcomes.
