Traxxas Updates Nitro 4-Tec 3.3 with Radio Dock-Base and Telemetry Sensors

Race-car manufacturing company Traxxas has updated one of its most popular on-road cars with a new radio system and Traxxas Link.

The Nitro 4-Tec will now be equipped with a TQi radio system (transmitter with docking base), Traxxas Link, and even more features such as factory-installed telemetry sensors for measuring RPM, speed, temperature, and voltage.

The Nitro 4-Tec is Traxxas’ fastest nitro car, as well as the second-fastest car in the entirety of Traxxas’ lineup, so these updates are improving on an already impressive and favored vehicle.

The formal name for the car is the Nitro 4-Tec 3.3, and it is equipped with its standard hardware and design, but can now do more, and does it better, with its updates.

The car runs on the TRX 3.3 Racing Engine, has Hex hardware throughout its carriage, includes a 6061-T6 aluminum chassis, is equipped with a Chassis-centered fuel tank, and is styled with Aggressive Prographix “supercar” styling.

The car can start electrically with its EZ-Start feature, has a five-channel received including Fail-Safe, and works with auto-shifting two-speed transmission and efficient three-belt four-wheel-drive drivetrain for steady handling and control.

Basically, the car is designed with every detail geared toward going fast and doing it in style. The vehicle can reach over 70mph, only just behind the Traxxas XO-1 which can hit 100+mph.

One of the most exciting updates to the Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec 3.3 is the addition of the TQi 2.4GHz radio with TQi Docking Base--the base can connect the radio system with an iPhone or iPod touch, and automatically stores and loads settings for up to 30 Traxxas Link Model Memory enabled models.

To add the TQi radio with the docking base to the car, it would cost around $479.99 on its own, a price which accounts for the real-time telemetry features, including customizable dashboards, fully adjustable steering and throttle percentage at dual rates, exponential sensitivity, end points, sub-trim and profile customization and sharing.

The options are seemingly unlimited, and in its roughly 20 years of business, Traxxas has worked at building, testing, learning and bringing innovation to the market to be able to make a car like the Nitro 4-Tec 3.3 with such capability.
