Wyless just announced a new agreement it has made with Rogers Communication, which will impact the M2M industry in several regions, most notably Canada. Wyless customers, old and new, will now be able to deploy M2M solutions on the Rogers Communication networks located throughout Canada.
Wyless’ award-winning M2M platform has previously operated in the United States, the UK, and Sweden, so this deal gives the company a wider reach, and contributes to its plans for global expansion.
“This new partnership with Rogers means we are now able to provide M2M solutions into Canada and in addition offering existing Rogers customers data access to carriers networks all around the globe,” said Wyless’ VP of business development for the Americas, Shelby Noakes.
In 2012, both Wyless and Rogers Communications were named in Connected World Magazine’s list of the top 100 most important and influential M2M tech providers in the world, so now that the two are working together, they can provide even more benefits for their customers.
“The Canadian market is obviously very strategic to the USA, and with both 2G, 3G, GSM as well as LTE services available across the Rogers network, we felt strongly that Rogers would be the right operator to partner with,” added Noakes. “We at Wyless are really excited about our partnership with Rogers.”
Rogers is looking to deploy its M2M solutions outside of Canada as well, so its agreement with Wyless will allow Rogers’ customers access they’ve previously been denied, with connections not only in the U.S., but also in Sweden and the UK. Rogers now has access to Wyless’ Porthos Management Platform, which has gained recognition for both its cost efficiency and its business outlook of being a “one-stop shop” for development and deployment in a range of markets.
Wyless has seen success with its platform in transportation, retail, oil and gas, government, financial, healthcare, manufacturing and education, to name a few.
