On-Ramp Wireless Announces Launch of its Advanced Metering Infrastructure Solution Built on Total Reach Network

The developer of M2M communications and wireless solutions for energy automation, On-Ramp Wireless, announced the launch of its Advanced Metering Infrastructure solutions on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.

The On-Ramp AMI solution is powered by its wireless communication network, Total Reach Network, as reported by a senior official. The On-Ramp Total Reach Network AMI Solutions can significantly reduce network infrastructure costs and improve return on investments for utilities.

Besides strategic partnerships with leading meter and meter data management system providers, the company extends support for high-tech metering capabilities on the same wireless network infrastructure that supports demand response and grid automation.

On-Ramp also announced that General Electricals has chosen the company’s award-winning Total Reach Network for its Grid IQ Advanced Metering Infrastructure Point-to-Multipoint solutions. The P2MP solution from GE incorporates its proven Smart Metering Operations Suite and industrial/commercial and residential meters. This partnership with GE is yet another validation for the advantages of Smart Grid Solutions and Advanced Metering Infrastructure powered by On-Ramp.

Total Reach Network, the advanced wireless communication network by On-Ramp, offers unparalleled capacity and range, providing the widest network coverage of Advanced Metering Infrastructure for significantly less than that of competing solutions. With M2M vision and AMI, On-Ramp offers solutions provide standard integration and advanced metering features with meter data management, billing, and other important utility systems. With established security parameters across the network, On-Ramp Total Reach Network facilitates flexible and rapid deployment scheduling, accurate network planning, and reduced operational and capital costs than any other solution.

With On-Ramp AMI Total Reach Network, utilities can achieve increased ROI, as they transform from one-way or manually-read AMR solutions, without the restrictive and lengthy deployment programs or difficult to handle meter issues in urban and rural environments. Fast realization of advanced metering benefits and low total cost of ownership generates higher ROI for the utilities. On successful implementation, the high capacity, advanced On-Ramp Total Reach Network can effectively manage the two-way AMI communications, as well as handle regular surge in data traffic, like wide scale power outage notification.

The network provides huge capacity, which means that a fully implemented electric AMI solution from On-Ramp has the capacity to add water metering, gas metering, demand response, and grid automation on the same Total Reach Network. The company plans to demonstrate its high capacity Advanced Metering Infrastructure Solution, as well as introduce the AMI partners at TechAdvantage 2013, to be held from February 18-21 in New Orleans.

Talking about the launch of its new AMI solution, On-Ramp president and chief executive officer, Kevin Hell, commented that the company has successfully leveraged its award-winning expertise in wide area, secure M2M communications to create most effective AMI solution available in the market today. The growing environment of MDMS providers and meter manufacturers powered by On-Ramp are significantly benefitting the utilities. He further added that no other solution offers the coverage, cost, and capability as On-Ramp Total Reach Network.

On-Ramp Wireless is the developer of M2M communications and wireless solutions for energy automation. It is the pioneer behind the first wireless communication system, built to connect billions of difficult to reach devices in rural and urban environments.
