AnyData’s DTW-200D has been certified for use on the Aeris Communications’ network. The Irvine, Calif.-based company’s device is the smallest M2M device that Aeris has certified.

The device has a three-axis accelerometer, giving precise motion sensing. It also has GPS tracking over GPS, AGPS and gpsOneXTRA. Since the device is already approved by Aeris, manufacturers of M2M devices can incorporate it easily into their own devices and have them ready for use on Aeris’ network and have them approved faster than using any other devices.
Aeris is the only mobile network that specializes in M2M devices. The company has just hired Mohsen Mohseninia, formerly with Logica, as vice president of market development for Europe.
