At the Intel (News - Alert) Developers Forum 2010, ASG will be presenting an ASG-Intel joint green power offering which will enable Intel Data Center Manager (Intel DCM) users to gain additional visibility, scheduling and monitoring capabilities for increased energy management of their data centers.
The Integrated Intel DCM (

Alert) solution will help organizations conserve power by power capping hardware system while adapting to changing server loads and minimizing performance impact of workloads. IT organizations will experience reduced energy costs without compromising the business and IT services running on servers and racks within their data center using the unique combination of ASG-Discovery and Dependency Mapping (ASG-DDM) and ASG’s metaCMDB software solutions.
To help organization running DCM measure power consumption for real-time critical business applications, ASG is working closely with Intel to develop an advanced scheduling system. Using the advanced scheduling system, IT managers will now be able to identify energy usage of individual devices at any point of time and accordingly prioritize usage of such devices for increased optimization at more efficient energy. This will not only ensure maximum energy performance but also that core business practices or resources are not compromised. By reducing power and cooling, Organizations will become environmentally green and also benefit from overall cost-saving due to reduced power consumption.
As per a release, Don Harbert, general manager, Software and Services Division, Intel Corporation said, “Intel looks forward to what the ASG solution can bring to our Data Center Manager customers. This joint effort can provide our customers with a better ‘green power’ option to meet their customers’ needs for performance and availability.”
