Fonality's PBXtra Beats Out Microsoft, Other VoIP Products in Infoworld Roundup

Fonality (News - Alert) announced that its PBXtra business phone system won top honors in Infoworld’s round-up of small to medium-sized business (SMB) VoIP products.
Story continues below ↓

PBXtra, a phone system designed for SMBs, surpassed the Response Point offering from Microsoft (News - Alert) as well as four other competitors in the round-up, because of its features, usability, unlimited extensions, Outlook integration, reporting tools and low price.

In the round-up, PBXtra was reviewed as a value-laden product that’s easy to install, use and maintain. Fonality’s business phone systems are being used by more than 5,000 companies in 100+ countries.

Chris Lyman (News - Alert), CEO at Fonality, commented that ease of use is often overlooked by businesses until after a phone system is bought, the result being that many such purchases are expensive mistakes. Fonality works very hard to deliver a phone system that is feature-rich but installs in an easy and simple way. Infoworld apparently agrees that this is, indeed, the case.

Keeping the modern workplace in mind, Fonality business phone systems are designed to enable mobile employees to participate on the PBX whether in the office, at home, on the road, or on a mobile device. PBXtra supports both VoIP calling and traditional phone lines, so that businesses upgrading their calling services can make a smooth transition. Its Hybrid-Hosted architecture maintains employee identity information while they travel between work, home, and hotel.

When coupled with the HUD presence software, PBXtra provides a combined view of chat, e-mail, and calling for all fixed and mobile workers.

Fonality’s PBXtra and trixbox Pro product lines are based on its Anywhere Management Hybrid-Hosted architecture. Both of these product lines deliver the advanced capabilities of an enterprise-class phone system at a 40-80 percent savings. Fonality also offers trixbox CE, an open source phone system, which has been deployed more than 200,000 times.
